As usual, the dinner will be in memory of Julia Mae Putnal and her sister Audrey Messer. Julia Mae and Audrey along with their sister, Merle Brannan, furnished and prepared the turkeys, dressing and giblet gravy. May Julia Mae and Audrey rest in peace.
This Saturday, Nov. 10, there will be a gumbo cook-off at the Lanark Village Boat Club. Proceeds go to the St. James-Lanark Volunteer Fire Department. The cook-off will begin at 10 a.m. and end at 7 p.m. Come and enjoy! Support our fire department.
On Saturday, Nov. 10, the 5 p.m. Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church will be celebrated by our new bishop, Right Reverend Gregory Parkes. Mass will be followed by our monthly covered dish dinner. Join us in the hall. Meet our new bishop and visit with Father Eddie.
Veterans Day, Sunday, Nov.11, will find members of the Camp Gordon Johnston American Legion Post 82 with the ceremony at 11 a.m., with lunch following, for members only!
