Carrabelle artists honor talented fifth-graders
Thirty-one fifth graders from the Franklin County Elementary School participated in the annual art contest sponsored by the Carrabelle Artists Association. A panel of judges selected the following winners, from left, Honorable Mention Levi Spruill, Third Place Thomas Copley, Honorable Mention Kayla Pilger and Second Place Abby Harris. Not pictured is First Place Josue Barahma. Prizes include watercolor sets with instructional videos, paints, brushes, etc. The reception included all fifth grade children, parents, and members of the artists association, which has provided throughout the school year monies for art supplies to the art teacher Mrs. Deane Cook, at upper left. The five paintings that were chosen are framed and will hang in the library at the school for one year, after which next year’s winners will take the wall space for another year.
