Susie Cummings

Mrs. Susie Mae Allen Cummings was born on March 15, 1920, to the late Ceasar Allen and was raised by her grandmother Mrs. Della Dell in Bainbridge, Georgia.

In 1939, she united with the late Moses Cummings, Sr. in marriage, and into that union eight children were born.

Mrs. Cummings passed away Saturday, Jan. 24, 2010.

She is preceded in death by four of her children, Mr. George Cummings, Mr. Hayward Cummings, Mr. Leon Cummings, and Mrs. Lorine McLemore.

She is survived by four children, Mr. Moses Cummings, Jr., Mr. Robert Cummings, Mrs. Mary James, and Mrs. Beatrice Washington (Donald); 27 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews and sorrowing friends. She had three dear friends, Ms. Margie Kelly, Ms. Essie Mae Woodyard, and Ms. Annie Mae Mitchell.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 30, at St. Paul A.M.E. Church with burial in Snowhill Cemetery.

All arrangements were under the direction of Kelley Funeral Home.
