Prayers of Peace for All God's Creatures

On Sunday, Sister Jeannne Drea and Father Roger Latosynski of St. Patrick's Catholic Church joined with Rev. Martha C. Harris of Trinity Episcopal to celebrate the Blessing of the Animals with prayer and song.
About 30 pet owners brought their furry friends to be anointed with holy water. Allan Garry, Carlo Harris and Holly Stott provided music to soothe the savage beast as the three ministers took turns leading the assembly in prayer. The service featured Genesis 1: 20-22, 24, 25 and several other prayers including a lovely devotion attributed to St. Francis of Assisi.
