Rehearsals underway for “The Christmas Gift”
Rehearsals are underway for “The Christmas Gift,” the third annual Christmas program presented by the Methodist Churches of Apalachicola and St. George Island.
This year’s program will be presented on Friday, Dec. 11 and Saturday, Dec. 12 at the Chapman Auditorium in Apalachicola. The performance begins at 7 p.m. each evening.
Traditional, country and modern Christmas music has been woven into the show written and directed by Scott Kinkead, director of creative ministries for the churches and April Patriotis. The story focuses on two radio DJ’s as they host a call-in show and discuss Christmas with their listeners.
Members of the Apalachicola and St. George Island Methodist Church choirs along with singers from the community will make up the chorus. Highlights of the evening include songs featuring The Divas of Country Music, a children’s chorus, the Bay Area Choral Society and numerous solos. Area children will be featured in several numbers throughout the evening, especially the Frosty the Snowman scene.
Tickets are on sale at the Chamber of Commerce office in Apalachicola. The price is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Tickets may also be purchased at the Methodist churches during office hours and after Sunday services.
