In Loving Memory - Pearlie Rochelle
When I was a little girl growing up with my grandmother at a restaurant called "Maude's," one wonderful day you came to work there. You took care of me, you brushed my hair, you wiped my tears. You bandaged my knees and elbows when I fell. You sat by my bed when I was sick and you let me sneak out on my first date. You always played "Sugar Shack" on the juke box and you would pick me up and dance around the dining room with me in your arms.
But as we grew older and drifted apart, I never seemed to have the time to get in touch. Just one phone call to say hello never seemed to happen. I never spent time with you as you did with me.
On July 6, 2008, at 2 p.m., I could not make myself walk through that door. I could not say goodbye to you. Even though we drifted apart through the years, I only wanted to remember the happy times. You were my angel when I was a child and now you are God's.
You will always be in my heart.
