New Bank Opens on Island

            Gulf State Community Bank debuted its new St. George Island branch location with an open house Sept. 25. During the day the bank gave out hot dogs and all kinds of prizes, and in the evening hosted a Business After Hours party sponsored by the Apalachicola Bay Chamber of Commerce. Dayle Flint, the branch's office manager, above, at right, was decked out in Hawaiian outfits, as were Jeanette Spann, head teller, above at left, Amy Rowland, teller; and Kay Gay, customer service associate. Food was prepared by St. George Island restaurants. The new location at 49 West Gulf Beach Drive swung open its doors Sept. 4 and features a conference room open to the public, as well as two offices that remain available off the front foyer.
