EASTPOINT — Following a Saturday briefing with the Florida Division of Emergency Management at the State Emergency Operations Center, Gov. Rick Scott assisted Florida National Guard troops with an air drop of food, water and supplies into Franklin County for families in need in the wake of Hurricane Michael, which swept across northeastern Florida on Wednesday.

According to a Saturday news release from the governor's office, the state has millions of meals and gallons of water on their way into impacted communities. Those supplies include 3 million Meals-Ready to Eat, 2 million gallons of water and 2 million pounds of ice.
