HUEYTOWN - Roydell Williams totaled 401 rushing yards and scored five touchdowns in the first half for the Hueytown Golden Gophers in a 70-3 rout against the Jaguars.

Hueytown had 592 rushing yards to Northridge's 71.

The Jaguars' only points came on a Bryan Finison 39 kick in the first quarter.

Northridge remains on the road next week, facing another Class 6A, Region 4 opponent in Brookwood.

BIRMINGHAM - The Paul W. Bryant Stampede dropped a road game to Class 6A, Region 4 rival McAdory.

The loss drops the Stamped to 5-2 overall. Bryant travels to Hillcrest next week.

 

Bibb County 65,

Jemison 21

CENTREVILLE - Led by the running back trio of Deshun Murrell, LaTerrell Morrison and Myles Kornegay the Bibb County Choctaws crushed Jemison in a Class 5A, Region 3 game.

The trio combined for 347 yards rushing and seven touchdowns. Murrell led the way with 137 yards and two touchdowns on runs of 3 and 49 yards. Morrison rushed for 113 yards and three touchdowns on runs of 50, 1 and 17 yards, while Kornegay rushed for 97 yards and scored on runs of 10 and 83 yards.

Trey Reese also threw two touchdowns on passes of 60 yards to Kornegay and 15 yards to Brody Seales. Reese also scored on a 30-yard run.

Bibb County (5-2, 3-1) travels to Chilton County next Friday night.

 

Central 33,

Marbury 32

DEATSVILLE - Javonta Leatherwood rushed for 307 yards and scored five touchdowns, four rushing and one receiving, as the Central Falcons edged Marbury in a Class 5A, Region 3 match-up.

Nik Jones threw the one touchdown to Leatherwood.

Central (3-4, 2-2) hosts Demopolis next Friday night.

 

Hale County 55,

Greene County 22

MOUNDVILLE - Devin Pearson scored two touchdowns for Greene County in its loss to Hale County.

Pearson scored on a 30-yard run and returned a fumble 40 yards for another score. Karon Coleman Jr. scored Greene County's final touchdown on a 60-yard run.

Greene County (2-4 overall, 1-4 Class 3A, Region 4) hosts Gordo next Friday night.

 

Greensboro 34,

Dallas County 6

GREENSBORO - The Greensboro Raiders scored two non-offensive touchdowns in their easy victory over Dallas County in a Class 4A, Region 3 game.

Donaven Patterson returned an interception for a touchdown, while Jarion Rutledge blocked a punt and returned it for another score.

Demarius Teacher rushed for 92 yards.

Ronell Robinson led the Raider defense with 14 tackles and two assists.

Greensboro (3-4, 2-2) has a bye next week before hosting American Christian Academy on Oct. 19.

 

Montevallo 49,

West Blocton 28

WEST BLOCTON - Jamon Johnson rushed for 168 yards and two touchdowns for West Blocton in its loss to Montevallo in a Class 4A, Region 3 match-up.

Cameron Shadwick and Brennan Morris each added one touchdown for West Blocton.

West Blocton (1-5, 1-3) travels to Dallas County next Friday night.

Shelby County 12

DEMOPOLIS - Antonio Besteder rushed for 184 yards and one touchdown as Demopolis rolled over Shelby County in a Class 5A, Region 3 game.

Brandon Franklin followed with 82 yards rushing and one touchdown.

Kywan Rhone returned a fumble 22 yards for another Demopolis score, while Tavian Brown returned a fumbled punt 22 yards for a touchdown.

Demopolis (5-1, 3-0) travels to Central next Friday night.

 

Tuscaloosa Christian 69,

North River Christian 48

Coleton Burnette rushed for 257 yards and three touchdowns as the Tuscaloosa Christian Warriors defeated the North River Christian Chargers in eight-man football action.

Burnette scored on runs of 55, 4 and 6 yards.

Landon Pate followed Burnette with 92 yards rushing and four touchdowns. Pate scored on runs of 1, 1, 50 and 4 yards. Pate also threw a 65-yard touchdown pass to Jacob Sumner.

Solomon Coleman caught four touchdown passes and rushed for another score to lead the North River Christian offense.

Tuscaloosa Christian (2-5) hosts Hope Christian next Friday night, while North River Christian (1-6) hosts New Life.
