MIDWAY — No injuries were reported in a three-vehicle crash involving a dump truck Tuesday morning on U.S. Highway 98 in Santa Rosa County.
According to a press release from Florida Highway Patrol, 54-year-old Kevin Jernigan was traveling west on U.S. 98 in a dump truck and was approaching Sioux Trail in the inside lane around 9:45 Tuesday morning.
Jernigan failed to see a 2012 Chevy pickup stopped in front of him and changed lanes abruptly, causing the dump truck to roll on the passenger side and slide. The front bumper of the dump truck collided with with rear fender of the pickup and the pickup collided with the right rear fender of a 2014 Toyota Corolla.
All drivers were wearing seat belts, the release said.
Jernigan was charged with careless driving.
