Every year Santa does his first Franklin County touchdown in Apalachicola on Black Friday, and for the third year in a row, he was accompanied by a group of blue-apron clad helpers with pink Santa caps. Once again the Dinner Divas were on hand to distribute age-appropriate books, purchased through Bring Me A Book Franklin, to all the boys and girls under age 12. The Divas, who specialize in one-off charity fundraisers for local causes, have made literacy their favorite mission, raising money to purchase, choose and personally distribute the books each year. This year more than 260 books were placed into the hands of Santa’s fans in Apalachicola, and the Divas were on hand to accompany the old elf when he visited George Island and will be in Eastpoint Friday and Carrabelle Saturday.
