Mr. James A. Harris, Jr., 56, of Apalachicola, passed away Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017.
Mr. Harris was born Feb. 11, 1961 in Port Arthur, Texas to James and Ann Harris. He was Franklin County’s longest serving, and youngest elected tax collector, serving for 25 years. Mr. Harris was a very proud and loving father.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Vicky Segree, and grandfather, Albert Harris.
Mr. Harris is survived by the love of his life, of 28 years, Connie Harris; son, Weston Harris, “My Boy;” daughter, Annah Harris, “My Baby Girl,” all of Panama City; parents Jim, Sr. and Ann Harris of Apalachicola; grandmother, Alma Harris of Apalachicola; two brothers: Greg Harris and wife Karen, and Johnny Harris and wife Sandy, both of Apalachicola; three sisters: Kathy Taunton, of Wewahitchka, Susan Oliphant of Panama City, and Jennifer Finch and husband Ken, of Apalachicola; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Graveside services will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13 at Magnolia Cemetery. Interment to follow. The family will receive friends at Living Waters Assembly of God Church from noon to 2 p.m.
