Grace Cospy, of Carrollton, Georgia, was born April 26, 1919 to the now late Gub and Alberta Smith. She departed her earthly life on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017 at the age of 98.
She joined the Hillside Missionary Baptist Church at an early age, where she served and worked faithfully, holding many positions in the church.. Mother Grace loved her church and her church family. She loved singing and giving God praises. She was the president of the choir for many years.
She was united in marriage to Frank McComb. During that marriage they had three children, one son and two daughters. After the passing of Frank, she married Dan Cospy, and they had three sons. Mother Grace loved her family; she is the last of all her siblings.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Cospy; two sons Grover and Ovell Cospy; one daughter Evone Cospy; her parents, Gub and Alberta Smith; five brothers; and four sisters.
She leaves to cherish her memories three children, daughter Betty Sue Davis, of Apalachicola; two sons, Mr. Romoree Cospy and Mr. Governor “Pete” (Elisa) Cospy, all of Carrollton, Georgia; one Godchild Ms. Annette Mittie Barker; 15 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law Mary Helen Cospy, of California; a special friend, Ms., Janice Addison; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Saturday morning,, Sept. 23 at Hillside Baptist Church in Carrollton, Georgia.
