Franklin County commissioners on Tuesday saluted the state tournament performance of the county’s AAA All-Stars, for boys ages 9 and 10. Coach David Paul said the tournament was a tough-fought, exciting one, in which the young Seahawks opened by beating Shalimar by one run, in the bottom of the seventh, and then that night bested Blountstown. In the third game they lost to DeSoto, and then fighting out of the losers bracket, they run-ruled Fort Meade.

In the championship against DeSoto, the Hawks won the first, and then lost the second, to earn tourney runner-up. “We just run out of pitching,” said Paul.

Teammates include Cody Abercrombie, Jentzen Odom, Prince Williams, Javaris Turrell, Logan Bentley, Josiah Friddle, Cayden Millender, Will Luberto, Peyton Blackburn, Colby Blackburn, Alex Sterling and Micah Harris.
