I take inspiration from the words of Oprah Winfrey who once stated “It doesn’t matter who you are or where you come from, the ability to triumph begins with you-always.” Those words have guided me as I have fulfilled the role as your city commissioner the past seven-and-one-half years and as I seek to be re-elected to this position, I look to them as a continued beacon to light my way.

Why am I seeking re-election? It’s simple - for the love of this great historic city, and to help preserve and enhance it. I’ve represented the Apalachicola community for seven-and-one-half years. This is my home, just as it is yours. Your needs are my needs. Your concerns are my concerns. Your goal is my goal.

As a community, together we’ve made many strides; we are more unified and cohesive as we work together for the betterment of this great city. As a community, we have “Bridged the Gap,” words I used during my 2009 campaign. However, although the gap has diminished, there is still much to do and I want to be your voice in helping to get it done.

When I first sought this seat, I shared with you of my commitment and that commitment still remains strong today, for I’m still Committed to Serve. I’m still committed to staying involved in the communities. I’m still committed to city transparency. I’m still committed to serving with boldness and honesty. I’m still committed to voicing your concerns.

If I’m re-elected, I will continue to question the city’s economics, ensuring that your tax dollars are used wisely. I draw upon my 20 years of banking experience to help me with this task and guiding me to make the best decisions for you. Therefore, I humbly and respectfully ask for your support, but most importantly your vote on or before Sept. 5. Thank you.
