This will be a great year to celebrate Independence Day in Franklin County. Come for the weekend and you can experience three breathtaking fireworks displays.

There will be fireworks in Carrabelle on Saturday, July 1, and St. George Island celebrates with pyrotechnics on Tuesday, July 4.

On Monday, July 3, Apalachicola Main Street will stage the sixth annual Downtown Fireworks Celebration in Riverside Park. There will be a parade and live music by Johnny and the Love Seats, whose lead singer, Johnny Hayes, was featured on “The Voice” on NBC.

There will also be a veteran’s tribute by retired Gen. James Donald of St. George Island.

In order to make all this happen, Main Street needs to raise funds to pay for the show. All contributions are welcome.

All corporate sponsors receive seating in the VIP section and access to an open bar.; a listing in the Times thank you ad; recognition on the year-round sponsor sign in Riverside Park and a Friends of Downtown card with discounts at many businesses.

To become a Grand Patron, donate $500 and receive a table for four. A $1,000 donation makes you an Event Sponsor with a reserved table for eight. Premium Sponsors, with a $2,000 donation, get seating for 16 and premium recognition on the Main Street website; and Title Sponsors, who donate $5,000, get three tables with seating for 24 and a logo displayed on all promotional materials for the event.
