With more than a third of its 57 members having earned the highest honors, Franklin County High School’s Class of 2017 will mark its graduation this Friday night, May 19.

Commencement exercises are slated to begin at 7 p.m. in the high school gym.

Named valedictorian for having earned the highest grade point average is Jackson Reed Subbarao, followed closely behind by salutatorian Astrid Gissel Ramirez.

Each received their medals and sashes from School Board Chairman Stacy Kirvin, Vice Principal Jill Rudd and Guidance Counselor Roderick Robinson Tuesday night at the eighth annual senior recognition night in the high school cafeteria.

Also set to graduate with highest honors, for a grade point average of 3.75 to 4.0, are Adriana Jean Butler, Tessa Elaine Carlisle, Holly Marie Chambers, Megan Ashley Collins, Christopher Cash Creamer, Logan Crosby, Maxwell Davis, Jaylon Decarian Gainer, Melody Faith Hatfield, Kindsey Reese Hersey, Kacey Howard, Allie Elizabeth Kirvin, Zachary May, Charles Richard Petty. Landa Ann Marie Reeder, Chelsea Rae Register, Alexis Marie Segree, Scout Shae Segree, Mallorie Michele Shiver, Thomas Cole Subbarao, and Tyanna Elizabeth Townsend.

Preparing to graduate with high honors, for a 3.5 to 3.749 grade point, are Tiffany Glass, Bianca True Huber, Zack Przygocki, Alyssa R. Shiver and Anna Nicole Smith.

Graduating with honors, for a 3.0 to 3.499 grade point, will be Tia Salone Cummings, Jill Diestelhorst, Tony M. Fuentes, Tea Patricia Kelly, Myranda R. McLeod, Natasia Breeon Robinson, Scott Martin Sawesky, Jencyn Dorothy Stultz, Kenneth Kalin Wilson and Emily Zingarelli.

Receiving a regular diploma will be Justin Cory Arellano, Tanner Boone, Bryan Carter Boyd, David Hunter Butler, Jaxson Bayley Cook, Greyson Ward Creamer, Quantavius Jawon Fuller, Ronald Lee Henderson, Tyler De'andre Howard, Robert Pierce Kilgore, Conner Alexander Mathes, Tiara Nizjay Mathis, Sabrina S. McQueen, Jeremiah Tylor Millender, Jonathan Taylor Millender, Corbin Rester, Preston Pierce Shaver, Athen Patrick Shipman and Connor Reed Smith.
