The family of Ashlyn Taylor Ford is pleased to announce her graduation and receipt of a bachelor of science degree in environmental policy, cum laude, from Florida A and M University on April 29.

As a toddler and a teen, she spent time on Carrabelle and St. George Island Beaches enjoying the surf, sand, seashells, and ice cream. Ashlyn has many wonderful memories of Franklin County that encouraged her successful studies.

Last summer, she interned at UCLA conducting research on the South Pacific island of Mo’orea and had the opportunity to present her research during an ASLO conference in Hawaii earlier this year.

Ashlyn is the daughter of Ericka Kirkland, granddaughter of Clatie Kirkland of Apalachicola, and great-granddaughter of the late Cora and Robert Kirkland.

We/She thanks her village. She plans to take a gap year to teach abroad before returning to school to complete her doctoral studies. Ashlyn, we love you and are very proud of you!
