Rebounding from a tough loss against Wakulla March 14, the Lady Seahawks beat up on Liberty County in away game March 16

Now ranked sixth in Class 1A. the team smacked 18 hits en route to a 12-0 shutout of the Lady Bulldogs.

Senior Megan Collins upped her record to 9-3, scattering four hits over seven innings, striking out four and walking two in the shutout.

Junior Michaela Cassidy went 3 for 5, with a double and an RBI, and scored three runs. Junior Madison Smith also went 3 for 5, stealing two bases, driving in a run, and scoring two. Sophomore Melanie Collins was 2 for 3, with a double,, and scored three runs.

Sophomore Sophia Kirvin went 2 for 5, driving in a run. Freshman Jaylin Charles was 2 for 5, scoring two runs. Senior Allie Kirvin was 2 for 5, with an RBI. Senior Adriana Butler went 1 for 3. sophomore Alexus Johnson 1 for 4, with a pair of RBIs, and senior Scout Segree 1 for 5, scoring a run.

Against Wakulla, the Lady Hawks committed a pair of errors early that cost them two runs, and they went on to lose 4-2 against their rivals to the east, who are ranked fourth in the state in Class 6A.

“We played hard,” said coach Scott Collins.

Megan Collins took the loss, giving up two earned runs, and allowinbg five hitsm while walking two and striking out three.

Sophia Kirvin went 2 for 4, with an RBI, while Segree was 1 for 3, with an RBI, and Butler 1 for 3.

The team travels to North Florida Christian Tuesday, March 28, and is home against Leon in a makeup game Wednesday, March 29 and at Marianna March 30.

“All the games are tough next week,” said the coach.
