The Bay Area Choral Society, performing as part of the Ilse Newell Fund for the Performing Arts concert series, will sing parts II and III of George F. Handel's Messiah on Saturday and Sunday, March 25 and 26.

The music is set to scriptures dealing with the Crucifixion and the Resurrection of Christ.

This 45-voice chorus, under the baton of conductor Merel Young with outstanding piano accompanying by Janis Ramos, plus nine soloists, will perform Handel's popular oratorio twice; the first performance will be in the First United Methodist Church in Port St. Joe at 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 25. The second performance will be in Trinity Episcopal Church in Apalachicola at 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 26.

A recommended $5 donation is the entrance fee.
