Rufus “Red” Hilton, 85, passed away Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017 at The Bridge at Bay St. Joe in Port St Joe.

He was born in Gardner, Louisiana on Dec. 29, 1931. He was a resident of Eastpoint since the early 70s.

He is preceded in death by his parents John and Leona Hilton, wife Betty Hilton, sister Mildred Lynch and grandson Glenn Martina.

Hilton is survived by a sister Johnnie Woods and a brother A.C. Hilton, both of Louisiana; and four children C.J. Richey, of Oregon, Kathy (husband Alvin) Martina, of Apalachicola, Jimmy (wife Terry) Hilton of Eastpoint, and Allen Hilton, of Oregon.

Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Robyn Wright, Kelley Balach, Milissa Varnes, Diane Flowers, Renae Bridges, Jamie Pennycuff and Katrina Ham; 15 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

There will be a graveside memorial service on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Eastpoint Cemetery. Brother Chris Goodman will officiate the service.
