EASTPOINT - An explosive second quarter for the Panthers propelled West Gadsden to 61-52 victory Saturday night over Franklin County in the battle for the district title.

The Seahawks' runner-up finish means they're on the road for the regional opener, Thursday, Feb. 16 at Chipley.

The Panthers built a 30-17 lead at the half, and remained in control the rest of the way.

Sophomore guard Jan Lowe led the team with 24 points, while senior Zack Przygocki added seven, junior Nathan Jones six, seniors Tyler Howard and Kailin Wilson each five, and eighth grader Lamarius Martin three.

Howard had seven rebounds and four assists, and Wilson six rebounds and five assists.


EASTPOINT - Franklin County tuned up for Saturday's district title fight by easily downing Bozeman 49-24 at The Nest Friday.

Sophomore Jan Lowe and senior Kailin Wilson were each in double figures, the guard with 13 points, with four assists, five rebounds, three steals. Wilson, had 10, plus five assists.

The Seahawks were ahead 17-12 at the half, and poured it on in the second half en route to the 25-point victory.

Scoring nine for ther Seahawks was Landon Nash. with five from senior Zach Pryzgocki and eighth grader Lamarius Martin, three from senior Tyler Howard and two each from juniors Nate Jones and Zacc Townsend. Howard had 10 rebounds; Martin had four steals.
