Marie Smith, a longtime resident of Carrabelle, was born Oct. 24, 1946 in Tallahassee to the late Ada Jeanette and Buddy Hancock. Her passing was Friday, Jan. 6, 2017 at hospice in Tallahassee.

She has two beautiful sisters, Mary Kelly, with brother-in-law Roy Kelly, of Tallahassee, and Peggy Elrod with brother-in-law Peewee Elrod, of Woodville.

Marie Smith leaves behind three children, Kalo Smith with wife Annette Smith, of Carrabelle, Lake Smith with wife Shari Teters, of Carrabelle, and Sharleen Shiver with husband Leigh Shiver, of Eastpoint; 10 grandchildren, Kaylee Smith, Adam Smith, Gabriel Smith, Rainey Smith, Kristianna Wilson, Christian Wilson, Rebecca Shiver, Jordan Shiver, Ethan Shiver and Korbyn Shiver; many church family members, family members and friends.

Marie was a very kind person who loved to be seen with a smile on her face and a prayer in her heart for someone. She is missed by so many and her presence will never be forgotten.

Her service was held at Living Waters Assembly of God, on Bluff Road in Apalachicola, on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 14.
