Leroy King, of Apalachicola, passed away Friday, Dec. 16, 2016 in Panama City at the age of 77, after a lengthy illness.
Leroy was retired from the St. Joe Paper Mill and the US Army National Guard, during which time he served in the First Gulf War. He was a faithful member of Fellowship Baptist Church and Apalachicola Lodge No. 76 F&AM.
He is survived by his children, Gail Bateman, of Apalachicola, Vernon King, of Apalachicola, Belinda Kelliher and spouse Joseph Metsa, of Panama City, Arlene King of Eastpoint, Angela Fletcher, of Panama City; and Marcus King of Apalachicola; sister, Faye Hoard, of Apalachicola; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irma, and daughter, Cindy (Nana Vern)
Funeral services will be held at Kelley Funeral Home on Friday, Dec. 30 at 1 p.m. Viewing for family begins at 11 a.m. Receiving friends will be at noon.
Burial with military honors and Masonic Rites will be held at Magnolia Cemetery immediately following the services.
