He came riding in on a fire truck, to much fanfare, and he left quietly, after sharing gifts with area children.

Santa Claus, his visit arranged by Bernard Simmons, spent the morning at the Holy Family Senion on the Hill. He was brought courtesy of H'COLA, with Sherry O'Neal coordinating the event.

The room was decorated with a giant tree, and on tables were bags full of goodies for each visitor. The adutls received hand lotion, soaps and other small gifts in their bags, while the children got fruit and nuts.

After each child had a chance to tell Santa what they wanted, each could pick out a book, and have them inscribed in their name by retired teacher Elinor Mount-Simmons, or Karen Kessel, Apalachicola youth librarian, who coordinated the giveaway on behalf of Bring Me a Book Franklin.
