Hallett Lovell "Hal," Tobin, 74, of Eastpoint, sadly passed away Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016 in Panama City.
Hal was a man of many skills; who was great at many things. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work and perseverance. A native of Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, Hal traveled many places before coming a Florida local. When he was just 36 years old he opened Tobin Truck Service. After 18 years of the truck service business, Hal decided it was time for a change, taking on Phoenix Carousel Company. He was monumental in bringing rides to the Apalachicola Seafood Festival in 1996. He traveled with his wife and children setting up shows all throughout the United States and Canada.
Sadly in 2003 tragedy struck and Hal and his wife Dorothy made Franklin County their home. In 2008, after retirement, they opened up a thrift and appliance store in Eastpoint, Flashy Me Boutique. Helpful Hal the appliance man who gets the job done! Hal helped many a person in the community, always looking to offer a hand and a friendly face. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by wife, Dorothy Tobin; daughter, Susan Stamatinos; grandchildren, Bryce Tobin, Abigail Harris, Owen Golden, Stephen Stamatinos, and Sophia Stamatinos; and sister, Florence Tobin and twin sister, Dorsey Naylor.
He was preceded in death by his son and daughter, two grandchildren, and his parents.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
