In their district opener, the Seahawk boys basketball team Thursday night delivered a major upset, as they went on the road and defeated last year's Class IA District 4 champ West Gadsden 62-55.

The Panthers, who were undefeated in district play last year, posted a 22-7 season mark last year, while Mackenzie Williams' Seahawks were 11-14.

The undefeated Seahawks (5-0) re now tied with Liberty County at 1-0 atop the district.

Franklin County next plays Maclay at home Monday night.
