Fred P. Jetton, Sr. passed away unexpectedly Friday, Nov. 25, 2016 in Carrabelle at the age of 75.

He was born May 31, 1941 in Carrabelle to Jennings Woods Jetton and Mary Mariah Mock Jetton.

Fred was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing, raising hunting dogs and following his children and grandchildren to every event in their lives. He was self-employed most of his life, worked as a city commissioner for Carrabelle, served as president as the Franklin County Seafood Workers Association and was a member of the SMARRT board working to restore oysters in the Apalachicola Bay.

Fred left us the morning of Nov. 25 doing what he loved most, spending time with his family and friends in the woods hunting.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Ruby Brooks and husband Stanley, his brother Robert Louis (Jack) Jetton, wife Ester, and his son Fred Phillips Jetton Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Tina Jetton; daughters Trina Jetton Johnson and husband (Alton), Robin Jetton Holley, Teresa Jetton Segree and husband Brad, and daughter-in-law Mandy Jetton; brother Jennings Woods Jetton (Judy); sister Virginia Rebecca (Becky) Jetton; grandsons Jake Jetton and wife Carla, Steven McAnally, Austin Joiner and Tonnor Segree; granddaughters Heather Morris Pilcher and husband Rick, Shelby Morris, Cheyanne Jetton and Trey, Taylor McAnally, Lacey McAnally, Che’na Segree and Scout Segree; and four great-grandsons, Caden, Tylen, Zaiden and Wyatt.

Fred is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and adopted children, grandchildren and friends.

The love he shared with his family and friends is a love that cannot be broken by death but will live in the hearts of all those he touched for an eternity.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 28 at 3 p.m. at Carrabelle Christian Center with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the funeral services.
