Bouncing back from an overtime loss at FAMU last week, the varsity Seahawk boys basketball team soundly defeated North Florida Christian Monday night at home.

Franklin County led from start to finish, opening up a 22-12 lead after the first quarter, and 40-19 at the half, as they breezed to a 73-51 win/

Senior forward Kailin Wilson led the team with 18 points, followed by 12 each from sophomore point guard Jan Lowe and senior forward Tyler Howard, eight from eighth grade guard Lamarious Martin and from junior center Nathan Jones, seven from senior guard Zach Pryzgocki, four from sophomore guard Daijon Penamon, two from junior guard Zacc Townsend, and one each from senior guard Jaylon Gainer and freshman forward Sean Williams.

The win followed a 66-55 loss to FAMU last week.

Down three with 50 seconds to go, 53-50, Wilson found Townsend in the corner for a trey to tie the game up. “We got a defensive stop and had a chance to win the game but the shot was missed by KK Wilson and also the put back by Tyler Howard,” said coach Mackenzie Williams.

“Once in overtime FAMU out hustled us and outscored us 13-2,” said Williams.

Wilson eld the team with a dozen points, followed by 11 each from Lowe and Townsend, nine from Howard, five from Pryzgocki, four by Penamon and three from Williams.

The middle school boys team is undefeated, 9-0, under coach Jeremy Williams,

The boys breezed through comeption, with wins over Hosford 30-18 and 47-9, over Tolar (Liberty County middle school) 55-38 and 48-32, over Altha 37-8, over Blountstown 59-28 and over Port St Joe 48-20.

In last week’s 48-19 win over Blountstown, Lamarius “Monk” Martin had 16, Jamal Robinson seven, Trey Jones six, Dorian Fleming five, Charles each one.
