The girls golf team finished the regular season last week by defeating Wakulla in Medart, before their final match at St. James, in which they defeated Wakulla again, Lincoln and Godby.

For the third time this year, the Lady Seahawks fell to Chiles.

Senior Megan Collins and sophomore Alexus Johnson led the team in scoring by firing a 38 and 46 respectively. Collins was the low medalist, defeating Chiles’ Alexia Pyun by a stroke at St. James. Johnson had the third best round of the day.

The girls ran their record to 32-3 and played in the district tournament on Wednesday, Oct. 12 in Tallahassee.

Taking part in the districts were Megan Collins, averaging 41, sophomore Melanie Collins averaging 39, Johnson averaging 47, eighth grader Hollie Larkin averaging 64, and seventh grader Alexandra Patrick averaging 68.

“We will need to be at our best to win a district title,” said coach Scott Collins. “The girls are working very hard.”
