The girls' golf team defeated Leon, Maclay, Aucilla and Community Christian twice last week.
The team also defeated Lincoln, Wakulla, Godby, and Florida High. However, the girls took two losses at the hands of Chiles and go into the final week of the regular season with a record of 24 - 2.
The girls' played in the Big Bend Tournament on Thursday and finished in second place. Senior Megan and sophomore Melanie Collins both shot 81 to tie for third place as individuals. Sophomore Alexus Johnson shot 107, and seventh grader Alexandria Patrick fired a 125 in her first-ever 18-hole match to secure the second place finish.
“We played a tough course, and scores for all the teams were a little higher than average, but our girls battled to secure a solid, big bend second place," said coach Scott Collins.
“Our district tournament is October 12, and this tournament is great preparation for it,” he said.
