Each week, the Apalachicola Times presents Seahawk Artistry, a regular feature showcasing the creative talents of school kids from throughout the county. To view more student work visit lcountryman.wixsite.com/seahawkarts.

This week we present Autumn Rankin, a third grader in Gretchen Millender’s classroom. The student artist created this cut paper collage, using warm colors, for the Franklin County School’s Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Harvest Hoedown celebration. The student was inspired by American author and illustrator Richard Scarry.

I made the carrot car after I saw a drawing of one in Richard Scarry's book “Cars and Trucks and Things That Go,” said Autumn. “My favorite art activity is painting.”
