Representatives of the Apalachicola Bay Chamber of Commerce helped the El Jalisco restaurant celebrate its grand opening last week with a ribbon cutting at 11 a.m. Sept. 13 at their new location at 260 U.S. 98 in Eastpoint. The popular Mexican restaurant relocated from 106 U.S. 98 into a freshly renovated, expanded space at the former Bayside Burgers location. El Jalisco’s former site, adjacent to Tiffin’s Furniture, is now available for lease.
By the evening, the Mexican restaurant had drawn an enormous dinner crowd, with a mariachi band weaving through the dining room, serenading patrons. The restaurant plans to be open seven days a week, from mornings featuring American breakfasts, through dinner. The Carranza family now has several locations throughout the Panhandle, stretching from Tallahassee to Destin.
