A Proud Community-Minded Carrabelle Resident

To the Editor:

            I sincerely appreciate the valuable editorial space you make available for my occasional personal opinions and commentary within the pages of the Times.

            But it is important for your readers to know that those observations and thoughts come from Mel Kelly, the private citizen of Carrabelle, and are not submitted by Mel Kelly, former Mayor of Carrabelle (unless otherwise clearly identified in my submission.)

            I was very, very proud to serve that city as Mayor, but I believe when you chose to identify my own written thoughts and comments with that "former" official City title, my personal ideas, concerns and words may carry a different meaning to some who read them.

            I hope all will be aware that I write for your paper as Mel Kelly, community-minded resident of Carrabelle and Franklin County.

            Again, thank you for the publication space to share my  interests and ideas in a timely manner with your readers.
