Orman House offers delightful Christmas experience
It’s early in the season, but I’ve had a delightful Christmas experience I’d like to share with Times readers.
A small group of women with no money or agenda, took a little time and tossed around some holiday ideas…the “flow” began, and…
Welcome to the spontaneity of Christmas at the Orman House! Please come and visit in the month of December (open Thursday through Monday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with new parking areas off Market Street). Whatever your schedule is, don’t miss the gorgeous natural cedar Christmas tree that touches the 14-foot ceiling in the living room. I’m hoping children and your out-of-town guests will declare it the most beautiful “real” tree in the county!
Drive north from the blinking light in downtown Apalachicola, and we’re on the left hand side of the road, opposite of Water Street Hotel and Scipio Creek Marina. Not only the house, but the roses are blooming, the kumquats are numerous, and the greens look luscious in the vegetable garden. Let us know what you think of this new “gift” we put together for your holiday enjoyment, another event in our thread of wonderful communities.
Special thanks to this group for your spirit of openness and curiosity, and the constant stream of creativity…the best was learning to microwave Spanish moss for one minute to use as “tinsel” on the tree! (In a Ziploc bag, please)
See you in December, and Happy Holidays to all.
Jan Thomas
