Lanark News
Thanks to everyone who supported the spaghetti dinner at Chillas Hall last Tuesday. The dinner was hosted by our friends and neighbors, John and Jean Rosenow. The proceeds went toward the Aron Cancer Walk, 26.3 miles.
This Saturday, April 12, members of the Lanark Village Association will hoist a hamburger and trimming dinner, and will feature Irwin's Medicine Man Show. See you at Chillas Hall at 4 p.m.
Don't forget the daily, Monday and Saturday, coffee hour at the hall. While you're picking up your mail, come in and enjoy a cup of coffee or two and maybe some pastry. You can also pickup an application to join the association or sign up to serve coffee.
Our monthly dance at the hall will be held on Saturday, April 19, featuring everyone's favorite band The Not Quite Ready, with vocals by Joyce and Bongo Bob. Your donation will go toward the window fund for the hall.
When you see a man with a yellow and red apron on, take some Tootsie Rolls. Members of our Knights of Columbus Council 1648 are having the annual drive for the Handicapped and Special Needs Children. Please donate to this very worthy cause.
On a sad note, David P. Ellis passed away in his sleep last Thursday. A longtime friend of many of us and we will miss him. Dave was proud to have served in Vietnam as a Navy Seal, and very proud of his country. Pray for Dave's eternal rest and for his family's strength during this sad time. My last visit with him was last Monday.
Be kind to one another and check in on the sick and housebound. Always remember, contrary to popular opinion God's last name is not damn!
