Well, the kitchen was full of workers this past Friday night. Thank you for a big sell-out in record time. Vivian Armstead, Mary Crain, Becky Whaley and Tommy Larson did a great job getting the fish, hushpuppies, plates out and dishes washed. Laughing and having fun all the way. The best part of the night was when the electric went out and we all sat around the lounge with candles singing. All we needed were some marshmallows. Hats off to all who helped!
This Friday, Feb. 29, from 5 to 7 p.m. we will be serving a choice of seafood gumbo or shrimp penne Alfredo. Both will be served with garlic bread and dessert. The best deal in town for only $7. As always our dinners are open to the public; come out and join us.
On Friday, March 7 the Post will be hosting the Camp Gordon Johnston reunion reception. All Veterans are invited to attend. Dinner will start at 6 p.m. We are located at 2316 Oak Street in Lanark Village. The Not Quite Ready Band will be there to entertain us and a great time is guaranteed to be had by all.
Don’t forget Ernestino’s Pizza on Wednesday and Sunday nights. Pizza is served from 5 to 8 p.m. $8 will get you a pizza to die for, and for a dollar more you could take it home. Call ahead if you like at 697-9998.
Donations for “Tonya’s Hope” yard sale can be dropped off at the Post any day after 4 p.m. “Tonya’s Hope” will be held on April 5 all day long. We will be having a pig roast and entertainment under the new pavilion. All for a good cause: to help Lanark residents who are undergoing cancer treatments. All in the name of Tonya Bridges, a brave young lady from Lanark who passed last year after a long battle with cancer.
God Bless our Troops, our friends and neighbors and our country.
