Jack R. Daniels
Jacquith "Jack" Rodney Daniels, 64, beloved son, brother, father and husband, died on Friday, Aug. 27, 2010, in Panama City.
Jack was born in Nags Head, North Carolina, on Feb. 12, 1946, to the late Jack Camdon Daniels and Edna Elizabeth Daniels (Evans).
Jack attended Chapman High School in Apalachicola, and entered the United States Merchant Marine in 1963. Jack was drafted into the United States Army in Nov. 1965, and served in the Signal Corps in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged holding the rank of Specialist Four in October, 1967.
After his military service, Jack returned to the Merchant Marine and earned professional licenses culminating with Chief Engineer for steam and diesel tankers. He retired in July 1996, after 33 years and innumerable trips delivering cargo to ports around the world.
Jack married Sharon Lovett (Carlson) in Sept. 1973. They had two children, Blakely Camdon Daniels, currently of Jacksonville, and Amy Elizabeth Daniels (Paul Ghiotto), currently of Washington DC.
In February 2007 Jack married Fe Campos of Trece Martires, Philippines. Jack and Fe were members of First United Methodist Church. Jack is survived by his loving wife, Fe, and two children.
The viewing will be held from 11 arm. to 1 p.m., with the service immediately following, on Tuesday, August 31 at First United Methodist Church in Apalachicola.
