Carl Eugene Hallstrom

Carl Eugene Hallstrom, 87, of Lanark Village, passed away Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012.

He was a retired Southern Baptist minister and served as the chaplain for American Legion Post #82 in Carrabelle. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Hallstrom was the recipient of three Bronze Stars, the Purple Heart and other decorations and citations for his service.

He is survived by his son, Larry (Jeannie) Hallstrom, of Crawfordville, and a sister, Mary Arlene Rose of El Paso, Texas. Five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Louise Hallstrom. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 28, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Carrabelle, with Pastor Mark Mercer and Pastor James Chunn officiating.
