Grand opening for the City of Apalachicola Recreation and Community Service Complex! Festivities will include FAMU Strikers Dance Crew, film by the sheriff’s office, water slide, karaoke, door prizes, free hamburgers and hot dogs and much more. Fun begins at 3 p.m. with free food beginning at 5 p.m. Strikers perform at 6 p.m.

Exercise class at Chillas Hall in Lanark Village. 9 to 10 a.m. Open to all and free.

Saturday, July 18

Let’s Sign in the Sunshine. Dr. Julian G. Bruce St. George Island State Park, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. , together with Ability 1st, the Center for Independent Living in North Florida, Inc., will host a deaf awareness event, “Let’s Sign in the Sunshine.” This will be a family-friendly event in the sun.
