Library Happenings
Happy New Year from the staff and volunteers of the Franklin County Public Library. The New Year brings exciting library programs for both youth and adult patrons.
On Saturday, Jan. 19, at 2:30 p.m. in the Carrabelle branch of the library, the Atlantic Coast Theatre for Youth returns with an adaptation of Mark Twain's "The Notorious Jumping Frog of Calveras County." This production is perfect for the whole family.
This month's pre-school Story Adventures is based on the season of winter. Each week stories and activities will reflect the theme of winter, winter life and winter activities. Preschoolers through grade three are invited to participate each Thursday at 4 p.m. for Eastpoint Branch for Story Adventures. Miss Tonia Granger, library assistant in Carrabelle, invites Carrabelle youth to participate in Story Time each Tuesday at 5 p.m. Stories, games, activities and crafts are all a special part of the Carrabelle Story Time.
The first 2008 meeting of the Friends of the Franklin County Public Library were to be held Wednesday, Jan. 9 at 5:30 p.m. at the Eastpoint Branch. The main topic will be the continuing progress of the building of the new library.
The first 2008 meeting of the library advisory board will be Monday, Jan. 14, at 5:30 pm at the Eastpoint branch of the library.
The Franklin County Public library, Eastpoint and Carrabelle will be closed in observance of the Martin Luther King Holiday, on Monday, Jan. 21, and Tuesday, Jan. 22..
