Max Yorkey Marshall
Max Yorkey Marshall, born October 28, 1923, passed this life to be with the Lord Saturday, February 25, 2006 at Community Health and Rehabilitation Center in panama City, with his family by his side. He was 82 years old.
He moved to Panama City in 1967 and started Max's Cleaning Services. He served his country well in the U.S. Navy on the USS Tuscaloosa during WWII in the battles of Hiroshima and Okinawa. He was a member of Gospel Assembly Church since 1949. He was an avid animal lover and loved being close to the water.
He is survived by his loving wife, Essie Estelle Marshall of Panama City; son, Max Vernon Marshall of Panama City; daughters, Linda Jewel Mings of Panama City and Frances Lorine Pippin of Bayou George; brother, Monroe Marshall of Cairo, Georgia; sister, Ernestine Spence of Jena, Louisiana; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 28, at Gospel Assembly Church, with burial in Mashburn Cemetery. Brother Steve Coy will be officiating and pallbearers were his grandchildren, Emory Horne, Daris Ellis, Paul Bonnett, great-grandchildren, T.J. Ooten and Jason Fox; grandson-in-laws, Terri Ooten, John Floyd Whitfield and Robert Coley.
