Santa to visit Hill Saturday
Join H'COLA, AJ's Neighborhood Bar & Grill and the Elves to welcome Santa to the Hill from 10 a.m. until noon this Saturday, Dec.1 at AJ's. Look for Santa moving around the neighborhood aboard the fire truck as he heads to the AJ's parking lot to pass out goody bags and take photos with the children.

Cinematic remembrance at WWII museum
On Friday, Dec. 7, at 10 a.m. the Camp Gordon Johnston World War II Museum will dedicate two flagpoles donated by Woodmen of the World. This dedication will be held at the new front entrance and a small commemorative plaque will be placed between the two poles. Afterwards, there will be a short ceremony to remember Pearl Harbor, the attack by the Japanese that caused the United States to enter the war. The flag will be placed at half mast as Taps is played, followed by a recording of President Roosevelt's "Day of Infamy" speech, the original heard by the nation over radio. At 11:30 a.m., the movie “Tora Tora Tora” will be shown as a visual remembrance of the attack by Japanese forces on Dec. 7, 1941. All are invited to come and, as always, admission is by donation and donations are always welcome.
Lighting of lights on island Dec. 7
Come to the island on Friday, Dec. 7 for the annual lighting of the holiday lights at island center. Santa will arrive on a fire engine for the kids. The lighting will take place at dark. Lighthouse tours will be available. For more information call 927-7744.
Carrabelle’s Holiday on Harbor Dec. 8
On Saturday, Dec. 8, Marine Street in Carrabelle will be glowing with lights, and the River Walk is the place to be at dark thirty for watching the decked-out boat regatta, the Parade of Lights. Stroll with old friends, make some new ones, sip cider, see Santa and fill your eyes with enchantment! Fireworks are the grand finale for the parade. To find out more, call 697-2585
Vintage toys on display in Carrabelle
The Carrabelle History Museum will celebrate the holidays with a special display of vintage toys. Trucks, trains, special dolls, games and doll house miniature rooms will delight children of all ages. The museum will be open Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. throughout December.
