Have a happy new year!

Congratulations to Mayor Curley Messer. Curley received a Christmas card from President Obama.

Missed you at lunch last Thursday at the Senior Center. Sarge had a good meal ready for us. We will line up for lunch after the first of the year.

Hope you can come over to Chillas Hall, Christmas morning, and enjoy a smoked turkey sandwich or two. Bob Dietz will have the door open at 8 a.m. See ya there!

Ron Vice will be on hand to play the music for your dancing and listening pleasure. The doors will open at Chillas Hall at 8 p.m. New Year’s Eve. So grab you favorite snack, your beverage of choice, your dancing shoes and, oh yes, your main squeeze and stroll on over and ring in the new year with us.

There will also be a celebration at the Camp Gordon Johnston American Legion Post 82, New Year’s Eve. Greg K and the crew will provide the music and you can help fill the dance floor. I will probably pop in from time to time. Party hearty!

On New Year’s Day, members of the Lanark Village Boat Club will prepare and serve the traditional black-eyed pea lunch, starting at 1 p.m. Be watching for you!

Joy to the World. Wednesday Night Bingo at Chillas Hall. The season opener will be held Wednesday, Jan. 8, and the doors will at 6 p.m. Bingo at 6:30 p.m. Come on over and have a fun evening. Who knows, you might just win a game or two.

Be kind to one another, check in on the sick and the housebound and remember, miracles do happen.

Until next time, God bless America, our troops, and the poor, homeless and hungry.
