Full moon climb Friday at lighthouse



The October Full Moon Climb at the Cape St. George Lighthouse on St. George Island will be held Friday, Oct. 18. The Sunset/Full Moon Climb will take place from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and will include light hors d'oeuvres and a sparkling cider toast to the full moon.  Film fest Saturday at riverfront



The Apalachicola Riverfront Film Festival makes its debut Saturday, at Riverfront Park on Water Street in downtown Apalachicola. The festival will feature local filmmakers, national and international films and student films. Filmgoers can purchase food from a menu of locally prepared cuisine and then enjoy the movies on a 40’ scree. Bring a lawn chair or blanket; please, no coolers.  Enthusiasm builds Sunday marathon



The fourth annual “Race for the Bay” Marathon, starting early Sunday morning, Oct. 20, winds along a course stretching from Apalachicola to St. George Island. Hundreds of runners will run in one of five races - the full and half-marathons, the 10K, the 5K and the Ultra 50K. To boost local runner involvement in the race, locals can take advantage of a $10 discount off the Ultra and marathon races, and $5 off the half-marathon, 10K and 5K.
