Alonzo M. "Lonnie" Cooper, age 87, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013 after a short illness in Panama City.
Born May 6, 1926, he was a lifelong resident of Apalachicola. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the Air Force as a B-24 gunner and military police.
After the military years, he briefly lived in Texas where he met his loving wife, Dorothy, and they shared 53 years together. Lonnie was a retired shrimp boat captain and enjoyed his retirement years working in his yard.
Other than his wife Dorothy, he is survived by his twin brother, Levy Cooper, of Apalachicola; and devoted niece, Betty Davis (Larry), of Tallahassee.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 18 at 3 p.m. graveside in Magnolia Cemetery.
