Ok you guys, time to get the grills out and ready for the grilling season. Memorial Day, May 27, is rapidly approaching.
Legionnaires from Camp Gordon Johnston American Legion Post 82 will place flags on the graves of those who lost their live protecting our freedom. The service at the legion will be Monday, May 27 at 11 a.m. followed by a lunch.
I reckon your Motherís Day went as planned. Had a good lunch Saturday, May 11, at the Lanark Village Boat Club. Carol Dadona and her helpers did a great job. Went with Jim and Mary Ann Bove. We sat with Bob and Ailene Benson. Good to see Bob out and about after his round in the hospital. Was also glad to see Mary Britz.
You can get your sugar fix Saturday, May 18, at the Lanark Village Boat Club. Serving is from 9 to 11 a.m. Great full breakfast and still only $5. Be watching for you.
Then in the evening, you can work off the calories at the Birthday Bash at Camp Gordon Johnston American Legion Post 82 on Oak Street, here in the village. Oh yes, the Songbird, and Ann Merrell, and others will be at the karaoke. Party hardy!
Lunch on Sunday, May 19, can be had at Chillas Hall. It will be our monthly covered dish. Bring your growling stomach, your dish to share and a donation, and come enjoy the afternoon with your friends and neighbors. Serving begins at 1 p.m. See you there.
The Farm Share truck of vegetables will be at the American Legion on Wednesdays from 4 to 7 p.m. If thereís food left, theyíll open at 9 a.m. Thursday until itís gone.
Be kind to one another. check in on the sick and the housebound and remember our little prayer: God grant me patience - and I want it right now!
