Special to the Times
Went over to the chicken and rib dinner last Saturday night with Jim and Mary Ann Bove. Members of Knights of Columbus Council #3521 roundtable cooked and served a great meal. I got to visit with a former resident of Lanark, Bruce Shipman. Also, visited and sat with Duke and Esther Smythe. The chicken and ribs were perfect as were the slaw and baked beans. Wish you could have joined us.

Last week we lost another great lady of the village. Betty Lamberson passed away. Her daughter, Judy Taylor, told me the service for Betty will be around May 28. Will let you know more later. Betty and her late husband, Jack, and I were close friends, and fellow members of the church. Her children and I also were good friends. Pray for Bettyís eternal peace and strength for her family.
Be kind to one another, check in on the sick and housebound and remember, contrary to popular opinion, Godís last name is not Damn.
Until next time, God bless America, our troops, and the poor, homeless and hungry.
