How about that breakfast! There was a steady flow all morning at Chillas Hall, last Saturday, Feb. 23. Thank you for your support, and thanks to the guys who prepared and served the breakfast. Looking forward to next year!



Don’t forget the Lanark Village Gulf Club Breakfast this Saturday, March 2. Doors will open at Chillas Hall at 8:30 a.m. Breakfast will be served until 11 a.m. Members of the Lanark Village Golf Club will prepare and serve it for you. A donation of $5 will be collected at the door. See ya there!



All day Saturday you can enjoy the annual chili cook-off and auction on St. George Island. This fundraiser is for the St. George Island Volunteer Fire Department. Hope you can make it over.



Saturday evening, you can dance the night away at the Franklin County Senior Citizens Center, 201 Avenue F, in Carrabelle. Ron Vice will provide the music for your dancing and listening pleasure from 7 to 9 p.m. Bring your favorite snack, beverage, dancing shoes and oh yes, your main squeeze. Party! Party!



The monthly meeting of the Lanark Village Association will be Monday, March 4. Try your best to make this membership meeting. Gavel falls at 7 p.m.



Wednesday March 6 will find us at Bingo for the Bus. Doors open at Chillas Hall at 6 p.m., bingo starts at 6:30 p.m. Cookies, coffee, and soda will be available. There will be door prizes, a 50/50 drawing and a drawing for a cake/pie. Fun, fun, fun! See ya there!



This brings us up to Thursday March 7. Hope you can join us for lunch at the Senior Center. There may be some World War II veterans with us, for this is the weekend for Camp Gordon Johnston Days, March 7-9. Registration will be Thursday at the Camp Gordon Johnston Museum. Friday, will be the welcoming cocktail party at Camp Gordon Johnston American Legion Post 82. Party starts at 6 p.m.; fun starts when you come in the room.



On Saturday night, March 9, the dinner dance will be held at the old cafeteria from 5-9 p.m. The Not Quite Ready Combo will provide the music. A donation of $17/person will be collected at the door. The old cafeteria is adjacent to the Camp Gordon Johnston Museum, 1001 Gray Avenue in Carrabelle.



Do you remember the big breakfast we had on Feb. 23? Well guess what? We’ll enjoy another one, only this time at the Curfew Lodge in Carrabelle on March 9. Serving begins at 8 a.m. and goes ‘till 10 a.m. Then it’s off to the big parade.



Be kind to one another, check in on the sick and housebound. Contrary to popular opinion, God’s last name is not damn.
